Show Cancer the V

On 19 July 2026, Team Velindre proudly took part in the inaugural Show Cancer the V event at Bute Park, Cardiff. Organised by Velindre Cancer Charity, the fun run brought together people of all ages and abilities to raise vital funds for cancer care across South East Wales. Participants could choose from 1.5km, 5km, or 10km routes, creating an inclusive and welcoming event that encouraged families, friends, colleagues, and supporters to get involved while promoting health, wellbeing, and community spirit. 

The event was a great success, bringing together hundreds of participants in support of those affected by cancer. Team Velindre was proud to be part of the occasion, helping to raise both awareness and funds for the Velindre Cancer Service, which supports more than 1.7 million people across the region. 

Supported by local communities and well-known participants, including former Wales rugby captain Sam Warburton, the day was filled with positivity, determination, and hope. The event highlighted the strength of community spirit and demonstrated the impact that collective efforts can have in supporting individuals and families affected by cancer.
