The  Velindre University NHS Trust was established in 1994 as a specialist provider of cancer and blood services in Wales. It runs the Velindre Cancer Service and the Welsh Blood Service.

The Trust's vision for the new Velindre Cancer Centre is to be the beacon of sustainable development promoting excellence in future cancer services, and exceeding the expectations of the future generations who use it.

Aligned with the Well-Being of Future Generations (Wales) Act 2015, the new Velindre Cancer Centre will deliver on all 7 goals.

Through expert design, our modern, eco-friendly cancer centre will be the pinnacle of innovation for UK healthcare. With our expertise and commitment to sustainable development, every effort has been made to maximise the utilisation of local materials and minimise our carbon footprint.

This centre of excellence will promote a healing environment for patients, families and staff, whilst prioritising the surrounding natural landscape and contributing to a better future for the people of Wales.
