Important Notice
We wanted to take a moment to update you on some changes to our construction schedule. After working closely with the Shared Regulatory Services for Cardiff Council, we have come up with a plan to help minimise disruption and unnecessary delays to ensure the new Velindre Cancer Centre is operational to support those who need it most, at the earliest opportunity.
We have collated a list of activities and timeframes which grants out of hours working to allow the construction programme to remain on track. The approval was granted on Monday, February 11th. We apologise that we did not communicate this to you earlier. In addition to the approval for extended hours of work until Easter, any works required to be done outside of typical working hours (8am – 6pm) will be communicated through the newvelindre.info and the new Acorn/Sacyr Community Platform, which you can register using the link below:
https://acorn-sacyr.dreams-lms.org/rcd/login.php
Once you have registered, you will be kept up to date with notifications for proposed works and we will make every effort to give you at least 48 hours' notice before such works commence.
On occasions, we will be starting work at 7am. Certain construction activities that do not create loud noise, such as assembling rebar and formwork, moving equipment, and pouring concrete may occur some Saturdays between 1pm and 6pm.
To ensure the tower cranes are effectively utilised during working hours and to prioritise the health and safety of our workforce when the bulk of works are taking place, additional logistics, liftings, clean up and preparation works may be required after the main construction activities are completed. These works have been approved to take place between 6pm and 10pm weekdays. Finally, there will be some large concrete pours and concrete finishing works associated to specific elements of the infrastructure which will be infrequent.
Further details regarding the approved section 61 agreements can be found here.
