Congratulations!

The Acorn consortium, which is working with Velindre University NHS Trust to deliver our world-class new cancer centre, won the Culture and Diversity Award in this year’s Partnerships Awards on Thursday (April 30).

The award recognises outstanding achievement in creating inclusive, equitable environments that nurture diverse talent and champion meaningful initiatives across public–private partnerships.

Our nVCC is scheduled to open in spring 2027 and will transform cancer care for future generations.  The nVCC is more than just a building – it represents a step change in how cancer care is delivered and allows Velindre to transform our services.  Designed around patients and staff, it will provide more capacity, improved environments and better outcomes.
