New heights for Gender Equality at the new Velindre Cancer Centre

Picture this: a project team for the brand new iconic Velindre Cancer Centre with 33% female representation currently working on the project and the most senior roles filled by the female powerhouses Maria Ortega Carreras, Elena Castro Blanco and Belén Lerma Inguanzo.

The Sacyr UK and Ireland team celebrate this monumental achievement on International Women's Day - a day dedicated to honouring the remarkable achievements and contributions of women worldwide.

Rather than just marking the occasion for International Women’s Day; they embody the spirit of empowerment, equality, and progress every single day.

The team are not just stopping there. To add some flair to their gender equality mission, they've recreated the iconic 'atop a skyscraper' photo - with a view of breaking down barriers and showing there are no glass ceilings for females in sight or 'on site' at the new Velindre Cancer Centre.

Together with their esteemed partners at Acorn (Sacyr Concessions, Kajima Partnerships, Abrdn, and Velindre University NHS Trust) they have huge ambitions to attract more females into the industry, with a trailblazing idea where details will be released soon!
